Adverse weather
The commute was reminiscent of the marathon in Lyon. Snow mixed with rain, strong winds, more mud puddles than semi-dry patches. Was already chilled just leaving the train station. Need to go beyond windbreaking fabric to GoreTex. And get the Comité d'entreprise to buy us a clothes dryer.

I checked the weather stats for today. According to the site I checked, Candler had one hour and one minute more daylight today then Grenoble, 35 minutes more than Michigan City, and 41 minutes more than Ann Arbor . A nice little bonus for living further south. (However, Candler had exactly one hour less of daylight today compared to Lihue on the island of Kauai so I guess there are still people to be jealous of.)

Mom says she feels much better, safer in the new house than when she moved in to the house on Cross Trail. I guess when she was alone in the beginning on Cross Trail, she worried that something bad would happen.
Not sure why, but that's another apparent asset of the new place in Candler.
