What topologists have for breakfast

Filed under: Uncategorized — Mark @ 10:17 pm

Some topologists agree with Tim that Dunkin’ Donuts is the right place for breakfast.

The question is, Can you rotate fat out of your gut around a single point in such a way as to obviate the need for liposuction?

GarageBand advanced preferences auto normalize by default. You may want to clear the checkbox.

GBAdvPrefs

Auto normalization may be a good thing if your record levels are too low. Yet if any of your record levels are deemed to be too high, this feature lowers all levels for the whole song.

When recording I try to get a good signal, about as loud as it will go without distortion. Bass guitar can be hard for me to keep under control. But I would rather have maybe one bass note come out distorted than have the whole piece dropped 10dB.

Bacteria and Us

Fun with Photo Booth

I am tempted to confuse consciousness and foresight. But I could probably walk consciously into this:

In autecological studies, bacterial growth in batch culture can be modeled with four different phases: lag phase (A), exponential or log phase (B), stationary phase (C), and death phase (D).

What were all those people thinking, the ones Jared Diamond studied? I’m sure they were feeling just as smart as any of us.
