Tim wanted me to tell you
Tim wanted me to tell you something he found out about Christmas parties at work, and the corresponding uptick in copier repair calls to replace the scanner plate. Did he read this at The Register?
We understand that Canon has recently increased its glass plate thickness from 4 to 5mm, and accordingly expects a reduction in arse-induced failure. No, that is not an invitation for drunken pressure testing. Behave yourselves.
I don't think we have this sort of Christmas party at most workplaces in France.

Perhaps the likelihood of meeting the BMi requirements to crack glass in France is below 10%, whereas in the US it's about 89%.

It's also the lower inebriation index at most French office parties that do not involve native English speakers.

I somehow don't think there is less drinking at Franco-French office parties. There was a story earlier this year about a family suing the company where the employee killed himself driving home drunk from an office party. I just think they are more mature about it. That and what Matt said.

Oh, and I can't wait until my children discover the internet (or their friends at school, or their big brother, or whatever).
